Volunteering

Since 2000, our Juluwarlu Group Aboriginal Corporation has been dedicated to recording, preserving, promoting and sustaining our Yindjibarndi cultural heritage, language, knowledge and our deep connections with our west Pilbara tableland country that encompasses the Fortescue River and the Millstream Chichester National Park. Our Juluwarlu Archive, Language, Arts and Cultural Centre is located in Roebourne on Western Australia’s Northwest Coastal Highway.

Share your talents

We are currently seeking talented volunteers who will work with us contributing to a range of innovative creative arts, language maintenance, digital media and cultural projects – including video documentary making, editing and production; the creation of interactive installations, apps, website content, animated and interactive language learning resources; collating and inputting gathered knowledge into our Filemaker database;crowdfunding, partnership development and media promotion; providing local training, and more.

Interested?

As a selected volunteer, you can contribute skills on-line, or choose to spend a month or longer with us in the Pilbara. Selected Juluwarlu-based volunteers who work with us for a minimum of four weeks will receive return domestic airfares, accommodation in nearby Karratha and access to a vehicle. You will be warmly welcomed and have opportunities to travel to our Yindjibarndi tableland country with our Elders and families, or perhaps contribute to our Youth Cultural Camps on country.
